The PEAK objectives and assessment will confirm that at the conclusion of this training, you will:
| Please note there are a maximum of 40 seats available to attend this in-person training. The registration fee of $495.00 for this training is being generously funded by the Right of Way International Education Foundation (RWIEF). Travel, meals, and hotel will be the responsibility of the participant. Selection will be made by the IPEC Instructor Development Subcommittee based on IRWA’s geographical and discipline-area needs, as well as the quality of your letter of interest. Those who are not selected will be placed on a waiting list for an opportunity to attend a future PEAK Instructor Development Training. |
You will complete four assessments during the training, which require you to present, instruct, and facilitate (see definitions on the following page). Based on your performance you will receive one of the following assessment scores Acceptable, Exceptional, Unsuccessful. The Assessment Criteria and PEAK Instructor Standards can be found by clicking the PEAK Instructor Standards" button above. If you receive an Acceptable or Exceptional score, you will be eligible to become an IRWA Instructor, provided you:
| Please note: If you receive an Acceptable score, you will be required to team teach at least once with another qualified IRWA instructor who has experience teaching the course before instructing on your own. If you receive an Unsuccessful score, you will receive detailed feedback for how you can improve upon your presentation, instruction, and facilitation skills and be given an opportunity to attend a future PEAK Instructor Development Training. Once approved as an IRWA Instructor, you have the option of teaching in-person classes, virtual courses or both. If you choose to teach virtually, you will be required to attend a one-hour training with IRWA Education staff prior to your first class using the IRWA’s virtual classroom platform. |
