RFP for IRWA Courses

Request for Proposal
Courses 240i and 241i

The International Professional Education Committee (IPEC) is accepting proposals for the development of two new 4-hour courses titled 240i: Geothermal Basics and 241i: Solar Basics.

Course 240i: Geothermal Basics and Course 241i: Solar Basics will provide participants with new course development relating to geothermal energy and solar energy basics. These courses will include, terminology, project types, environmental concerns, and mitigation. In addition to project management concepts, this course will include international content and/or resources. These courses will be designed for in-person and virtual delivery. Course content will be applied using exercises, and knowledge will be assessed using a final exam.

Course 643i: Air Basics will provide participants with an introduction to air terminology, quality, and pollution as well as wind events, project effects, and mitigation. This course will also include international content. Application of course content will be applied using exercises and knowledge assessed using a final exam.
Course 646i: Soil Basics will provide participants with an introduction to soil terminology, soil levels, erosion, soil management, protection, project effects, and mitigation. This course will also include international content. Application of course content will be applied using exercises, and knowledge assessed using a final exam.

Thank you for your service and leadership, Robbie!

Hello, all Chapter 57 Members:

Another education conference is in the books. I enjoyed seeing and catching up with most of us there and those I have not seen in years. At this year’s conference Chapter 57 was up for a few awards, Newsletter of the Year, Social Media Presence of the Year and SoCalGas for Employer of the Year [20 employees or more] on behalf of Chapter 57. I was only notified about one of them before the conference, so learning about the other two while reading the Annual Awards pamphlet was a surprise, a whole new set of nerves came over me as I was prepared to go on stage for one potential acceptance speech, not three LOL. Ultimately Chapter 10 from Region 5 won Newsletter of the Year and Social Media Presence of the Year, while CBRE took home the Employer of the Year award. I was really hoping to accept the awards in my bright yellow palm tree volunteer shirt! But it is still an honor to be considered finalists for these awards and its deserving that the entire organization recognized the hard work and dedication of our very own Sheryn Smay and Emily Madueno. Thank you, ladies, for all that you do and we’re looking for a Chapter 57 sweep next year.
